Toor Dal Recipe Ingredients:
1 cup Desi Toor Dal
2 cups chopped Spinach
1 chopped Onion
2 chopped Green Chillies
½ teaspoon chopped Ginger
2 tablespoon Ghee
2 tablespoon chopped Coriander Leaves
1 chopped Tomato
Toor Dal Tadka Spices:
1 tablespoon Cumin Seed (Jeera)
1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida (Hing)
Powder Spices:
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt (as per taste)
Toor Dal Recipe:
Step I:
Boil the Desi
Toor Dal. Wash the Toor Dal and put it in the pressure cooker with a pinch
of salt. Toor Dal takes little extra time to boil completely – up to three
whistles are good. The boiled Toor Dal texture must be soft and mushy. To make
it perfect for the Palak Toor Dal recipe, move your whisker once in the boiled
dal when it’s hot.

Step II:
At step two of the Palak Toor Dal recipe, it’s time to prepare the tadka for
the Palak Toor Dal recipe. In a pan, heat the ghee and add jeera, hing, onion, ginger
and chilli. Saute this till onions become translucent.
Step III:
It’s time to add powder spices to your dal tadka - red chilli powder, turmeric
powder and dhania powder.
Step IV:
Now, add the boiled Desi Toor Dal in your
pan. Stir it for about a minute to mix with the tadka. Add the tomato and salt.
Keep stirring for mixing all ingredients together to move ahead with your Palak

Step V:
Wash spinach thoroughly. Add the spinach in the Toor Dal and
mix. Let this cook up to 5-7 minutes or till the spinach boils and the Toor Dal
reaches its ideal consistency. Don’t forget to add salt as per taste.
Step VI:
In case the Toor Dal turns little dry after adding the
chopped spinach, add hot water to this.
Step VII:
